Growth Partnership Trustee Recognized with National Award

Steve Walling, chairman
of Plasticolors, Inc., Ashtabula, Oh., was recognized by the American
Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) for his ability to develop
future leaders and for his community service. ACMA President Monty
Felix presented Walling with ACMA’s President's award on February 3, in
Fort Lauderdale, Fla., during the Awards Luncheon at COMPOSITES 2011,
the largest composites industry trade show in North America.
Steve Walling was honored with the President’s award for his dedicated
focus and ability to help develop and refine ACMA’s strategic goals and
his service on the ACMA Board of Directors.
"It is certaily gratifying to receive this award by the leading
composities organization in North America. There has been great synergy
between the ACMA staff and many volunteer leaders which has resulted in
significant industry growth for the composites industry" .I am very
pleased to be a part of such a dynamic industry with high growth
potential for the future",states Mr Walling.
Walling, a graduate of Denison University, completed the Graduate
Management Program at the Wharton School of Business as well as the
Owner President Management Program at Harvard University. He joined
Plasticolors in 1990 as the director of sales and marketing and in 1993
he was promoted to the vice president of sales and marketing. In 1995 he
was appointed Chairman and CEO where he was responsible for the
company’s strategic direction as well as assuring that the needs and
expectations of the company’s many customers are met.
Prior to joining Plasticolors, he held various sales and marketing
management positions with Owens-Corning an National Standard. He is also
on the board at Production Services Ltd, JumpStart, The Entrepreneurs
EDGE,, Ashtabula County Medical Center, and is a past board member at
Grand River Academy and the Growth Partnership Ashtabula County.

Association (ACMA) is the world's largest trade group representing the
composites industry.
